We're on the lookout for a skilled and solutions-focused Workplace End User Computing Engineer to deliver a seamless, secure, and high-performing digital experience across all end-user devices. In this hands-on role, you'll take charge of managing and optimising our Windows SOE, ensuring consistent configuration and compliance across laptops and mobile devices. You'll also troubleshoot complex endpoint issues, automate workflows for greater efficiency, and collaborate closely with security and infrastructure teams to align with best practices and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute software rollouts, including OS upgrades, security patches, and application updates.
  • Enforce compliance and security policies to safeguard endpoint integrity and protect organisational data.
  • Automate deployment and management tasks using scripting tools like PowerShell to boost efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Monitor endpoint health, track update compliance, and report on software deployment success.
  • Provide Level 3 support by diagnosing and resolving complex endpoint issues.
  • Mentor Desktop Support teams, offering technical leadership and knowledge sharing to uplift team capability.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to deliver a seamless and secure end-user experience.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with emerging technologies in endpoint management and modern workplace solutions.

Skills and Attributes

  • Deep expertise in Windows SOE design, deployment, and lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM) and SCCM for managing devices and applications.
  • Strong background in software packaging, deployment strategies, and patch management.
  • Solid understanding of endpoint security, compliance frameworks, and vulnerability management.
  • Familiarity with the ITIL framework and its application in IT service management.
  • Proficient in scripting with PowerShell or similar tools to automate and streamline processes.
  • Experience managing mobile devices across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and modern authentication methods such as Azure AD.

Personal Attributes

  • A natural mentor with a passion for coaching and uplifting technical teams.
  • Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills—able to bridge the gap between Desktop Support and System Administrators.
  • Analytical thinker with a knack for solving complex technical issues.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong focus on compliance, security, and operational excellence.
  • Team player who thrives in cross-functional environments and values collaboration.
  • Curious and adaptable, always eager to learn and stay current with the latest in workplace technology.
