Machine Operator

Seeking multiple Machine Operators to join our InfraBuild site at Carole Park and Eagle Farm.  As a Machine Operator you will be setting up and operating machine tools to shape and form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances and specifications. You will work on Shear Line Machines, Heavy Bar Bending Machines and Off Coil Machines for cutting, straightening and bending reinforcing bar.

Carole Park has afternoon shift position only and Eagle Farm have both day and afternoon shifts available.

• Day shift – 6am – 2pm, Monday to Thursday, Friday is 6am – 12pm
• Afternoon shift – 2pm – 10pm, Monday to Thursday, Friday is 12pm – 6pm

Pay rate - $31.12/hr + super + quarterly performance bonus + 15% for afternoon shift + as you learn you will earn skill points and allowances.  Your pay will increase as you learn

Your responsibilities will include:

• Machine operation – Shear line Machines, Heavy Bar Bending Machines and Off Coil Machines
• Monitoring accuracy, efficiency and quality of product output from machines
• Troubleshooting and adjusting machinery
• Reading and interpreting job cards/schedules
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
• Operating overhead gantry cranes
• Assessing material and maintenance requirements
• Loading and unloading steel products
• Removing product from machinery to designated staging areas for delivery
• Maintaining effective communication across operational teams
• Adhering to InfraBuild safety procedures and programs

Requirements to be successful in this role:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, desirable – training will be provided
• Experience operating and troubleshooting machinery
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
• Excellent attitude and willingness to learn
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Adhering to the safety standards of the site
