Parts Purchasing Officer – Bibra Lake Trailer Repairs

Due to ongoing growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Parts Purchasing Officer at our Bibra Lake Trailer Repairs location, reporting to the National Maintenance Manager.

This full-time role operates Monday to Friday (approx. 45–50 hours/week), with flexibility to work Saturday mornings if required.

The Role

In this fast-paced, hands-on position, you will manage the sourcing, supply, and distribution of parts across multiple areas of the business. You will provide purchasing support to the workshop team and ensure accurate and timely parts availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source correct parts in response to requisitions, work orders, and material requests
  • Liaise with Workshop Supervisors regarding parts requirements and storage
  • Perform stocktaking as required
  • Resolve supplier queries
  • Complete accurate data entry into site-based systems
  • Maintain work records to a high standard
  • Comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies
  • Deliver excellent customer service with strong verbal communication
  • Raise purchase orders and manage all purchasing functions
  • Backfill store person duties when required
  • Assist with job costing
  • Manage interstate and local purchasing and receipting
  • Prepare and dispatch parts orders
  • Perform ad hoc support duties across departments as needed

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Previous experience as a Parts Interpreter or Purchasing Officer
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical/automotive parts
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • High computer literacy with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Outstanding telephone manner and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Initiative, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn
  • Experience with electronic parts catalogues (desirable)

Requirements

  • Valid driver's licence
  • Valid forklift ticket and high-risk licence (desirable)
  • Certificate III in Automotive Sales/Parts Interpreting (desirable but not essential)
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Ability to pass a full medical and drug & alcohol assessment
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
