About the Role
As a Kitchen Supervisor / Head Cook, you will support the Head Chef in leading daily back-of-house operations. You will help maintain food quality, coordinate kitchen staff, and ensure smooth service during busy periods. This role requires strong cooking skills, leadership capability, and the ability to solve problems under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations & Food Preparation
- Oversee daily cooking and food preparation in line with Okami standards
- Ensure dishes are prepared, cooked, and presented consistently and efficiently
- Assist with menu execution and portion control during service
Team Support & Supervision
- Guide and support kitchen staff during shifts
- Assist with training new team members and reinforcing kitchen procedures
- Help manage shift coverage and ensure adequate staffing during peak times
Quality & Food Safety
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Monitor food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness at all times
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and internal guidelines
Stock & Equipment Management
- Assist with inventory checks, ordering, and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly
- Support procurement and minimise food waste
Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow
- Communicate special orders, dietary needs, and service updates clearly
- Help resolve operational challenges and improve efficiency
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a chef, head cook, or kitchen supervisor
- Experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Knowledge of food safety standards (Food Handler Certificate preferred)
- Ability to lead and support a team during busy service periods
- Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure
- Basic English communication required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
