Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager to drive HSEQ and compliance functions across a major aviation facility. Reporting directly to the senior management team, you will drive process improvements, ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader, system and process oriented, and capable of inspiring and developing a small team while maintaining strong relationships across multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage HSEQ compliance, ensuring adherence to AS/NZS 4801, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external HSEQ audits, reporting, and corrective action programs
  • Develop and maintain safety and environmental procedures, records, and workflows.
  • Oversee work order compliance, including permits, SWMS, and safety-related requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and provide technical guidance on risk mitigation.
  • Support contract transitions, training, and development of compliance staff.
  • Foster positive client and internal relationships to ensure high service delivery.
  • Mentor and develop a small team (approx. 4 direct reports), promoting collaboration and growth

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in HSEQ or demonstrated industry experience.
  • Strong background in facilities management or complex corporate/property environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong report-writing ability.
  • Proficient in CMMS and other enterprise compliance systems.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, especially fire, and relevant statutory compliance.
  • Experience leading teams, promoting collaboration, and building high-performing teams.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in aviation or similarly complex facilities.
  • Exposure to insurance and risk management systems.
