Specialist Commercial Mowing

MPG has more than 20-years of experience in the open green-space maintenance of open public spaces and roadsides and we have a hard-earned reputation for high-quality services and professionalism.

About the Roles (7 Positions Available)

• 2 x Specialist Operators (Large Tractor with Mowing Implements)
• 2 x Outdoor Space Operators (Zero Front Mowers, Brush Cutters, Blowers)
• 3 x Gardening Operators (Outdoor Equipment, Outdoor Space Gardening)

MPG is seeking enthusiastic, skilled and reliable individuals to join our team on a full-time or casual basis to be a part of our green space mowing and maintenance crews in the City of Casey, Cardinia Shire and Parks Victoria regions.

Ideally you will have experience in operating commercial mowers, brush cutters and knapsacks. A number of positions that we are recruiting for require large tractor responsibilities and we welcome applicants with this skill and experience.

The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that work is completed to a high standard, in a safe manner and reported via our online management system. The successful candidate must also work well in a team and carry out tasks independently following direction, be physically fit, punctual and have excellent communication skills.

Primary tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Roadside vegetation control utilising large specialised tractors and mowers
• Zero turn grass mowing, brush cutting, blowing down and weed spraying
• Conducting/participating in onsite safety briefings
• Inspection, making safe and clearing litter and debris from parklands and garden beds
• Removing and reporting broken or fallen trees and tree branches
• Looking out for the safety of yourself and others
• Other open space maintenance duties as required

Mandatory Skills/Requirements:

• Great attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to work safely and promote safety in the workplace
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Previous experience in the operation of tractors, commercial mowers, brush cutters and knapsacks (not every position needs all these experiences)
• Physically fit, hard working with a strong work ethic
• Current VIC Drivers License
• Current Working With Children's Check (or provision to provide within 2 weeks of commencement)
• Police check (or provision to provide within 2 weeks of commencement)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Daily access to a smart phone and ability to operate digital technologies

Desirable (But Not Necessary) Qualifications:

• Truck License (MR classification or greater)

• Gardening and Horticulture

• Mechanically minded

• Current First Aid certificate
• Chemical weed control certificate
