About the role

We are seeking an experienced Boilermaker - General Fabrication - Leading Hand to join our growing team at COMPLETE ENGINEERING (QLD) PTY LTD' in Southport, QLD. This is a full-time opportunity where you will take on or grow into a leading role, overseeing and contributing to the fabrication of a range of high-quality products.

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the fabrication team to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and on time
  • Carry out complex fabrication duties including cutting, welding, rolling, forming and assembling metal components
  • Interpret engineering drawings and work from specifications to fabricate custom steel and metal products
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with relevant safety standards and procedures
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior members of the team
  • Liaise with the project manager to identify and resolve any issues that may impact fabrication timelines or quality

What we're looking for

  • Formal trade qualification as a Boilermaker with 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Proficient in a range of fabrication techniques including welding, cutting, rolling and forming
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively oversee a team of fabricators
  • Safety-focused approach and understanding of relevant OH&S requirements
  • Experience with pressing and laser cutting a strong advantage.
  • Working at Heights Preferred
  • Occasional Site work
