Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for media? We are seeking a dynamic Media Officer to join our high-performing Communications, Engagement and Media team. In this fast-paced and impactful role, you'll help shape and protect Council's reputation through proactive media relations, strategic communication and crisis response. About The Role

  • Day-to-day media operations including media releases, media monitoring, and online newsroom management.
  • Coordinate and produce the weekly Tweed Link , ensuring timely publishing and distribution.
  • Provide media support during crisis and emergency situations, requiring flexibility and responsiveness outside normal hours.

We are seeking:

  • Proven experience in media relations, including handling enquiries, writing releases, managing online newsrooms, pitching stories, coordinating events and overseeing media monitoring.
  • Manage and deliver media and communications strategies in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
