About the role

The Sustainability Officer is responsible for supporting TAFE NSW in achieving sustainable practices and environmental management objectives by identifying and driving sustainability strategies, programs and initiatives that support TAFE NSW's strategic direction and sustainability ambitions.

Working closely with business stakeholders, you will collaborate in the coordination of strategies and initiatives and liaise with and manage contracted relationships and performance as required.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and strategic Sustainability Officer with experience leading and coordinating sustainability initiatives and projects. Your experience will be key to supporting the delivery of TAFE NSWs Sustainability commitments. You will be collaborative, have excellent communication skills and experience working in cross functional team environments. You will be experienced in capturing and analysing data to meet reporting obligations and monitoring environmental performance.

You have a solid understanding of contemporary environmental sustainability issues, including circular economy, net zero, climate risk, and resilience and nature positive. Your ability to engage internal and external stakeholders, lead and coordinate projects, and build networks across government and education sectors will be key to achieving sustainable outcomes and influencing change.

You thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrating excellent prioritisation and time management skills, and keep abreast of regulatory matters affecting sustainability programs.

In addition, you will also have a Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Engineering or other relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
