As a Teacher in a Specialist Support Class, you will play a pivotal role in providing a tailored education to students with complex needs. Your primary responsibility will be to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Emphasising best practices and fostering inclusion opportunities will be integral to your role. Preferred work days are Wednesdays and Thursdays, however, this can be negotiated.

About You
As a Teacher - Specialist Support Class, you will inspire students through engaging, student-centered teaching within a Catholic learning environment. You will:
- develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the unique needs and abilities of students in the Specialist Support Class
- utilise differentiated instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities within the classroom
- ensure that programs and resources are of high quality with a strong research-base
- employ a variety of instructional techniques and assistive technologies to address the individual learning needs of students
- provide scaffolded support and accommodations to help students overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential
- maintain a thorough knowledge of the student including how they learn, their interests and skills, and the nature of their disabilities
- regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly to ensure the attainment of learning goals
- maintain knowledge of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) including the planning, implementation and review of student's personalised plans
- foster a positive, healthy and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued, respected, and supported
- ensure access to appropriate opportunities that support inclusion with students' mainstream cohort
- work closely with parents, guardians, and caregivers to understand the unique strengths, challenges, and goals of each student
- collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and community resources to maximise inclusion opportunities and support student success
- coordinate with support where required, the work of the Learning Support Officer
- stay informed about the latest research, trends, and best practices in special education and inclusion
- participate in professional development activities, workshops, and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting students with disabilities
- maintain a professional level of record keeping, reporting and organisation of student file notes
- have additional qualifications in the area of inclusion or diverse learning needs (preferable)
- have a tertiary qualification in Education & NESA accreditation.
