Rural Clinical School of WA (RCSWA)

  • Based in any Rural Clinical School of Western Australia site
  • Part-time (0.5 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis until December 2026.
  • Base salary range: Level B, $118,150 – $139,812 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Rural Clinical School of Western Australia (RCSWA) is a unit within The University of Western Australia (UWA) Medical School which provides rural clinical training for WA medical students from UWA, The University of Notre Dame and Curtin University. Initiated in 2002, this program has grown to encompass 15 rural sites and one city-based office, facilitating a quarter of all graduating medical students to experience a year-long immersion program in rural Western Australia.

About the opportunity

  • Unit coordination for UWA MD students participating in rural research projects
  • Collaborate with the UWA service-learning unit coordinator and RCSWA students participating in service learning projects.
  • Identify educational and upskill opportunities for RCSWA staff and students, track, evaluate and promote student involvement in research and provide reports of student research involvement.

About you

  • Masters or PhD in a health-related field, or research experience in a health-related field
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses
  • Demonstrable track record in excellence in research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals relative to opportunity
  • Demonstrable experience of participation in education/research leadership in public engagements
  • Demonstrate evidence of successful ethics and governance applications
