The Organisation:

PATCH Property Maintenance and Repairs has been founded to support community services organisations (OOHC) with their day-to-day operational needs in order to best provide support for children and young persons in care. The majority of work will be in the South-West/Ipswich region at present.   

The Role:

  • Carry out maintenance to residential and office settings (both internal and external - including regular lawnmowing)
  • Liaise with the management team to receive new work orders/instructions
  • Assisting in the set-up of new community services/houses (furniture delivery and assembly)
  • General maintenance tasks – changing light bulbs, painting/plastering, minor carpentry & plumbing
  • Extensive repair tasks following incidents - door replacements, wall repair/patching, make-safe options, etc.
  • Provide updates on works to the manager, including estimates, completions and delays
  • Prioritise maintenance orders depending on operational requirements and OH&S standards
  • Complete worksheets to indicate how long was spent on the job and the materials used

The Candidate:

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and Yellow Card (or must be willing to obtain).
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in general property and grounds maintenance and repairs - in particular, the ability to repair damaged properties to new ones (for example, returning a hole in the wall to its original state through patching, sanding and painting). This aspect may suit someone with a plastering, painting, carpentry, etc background.
  • Experience in a similar role within community services, accommodation, real estate or hospitality (highly regarded)
  • Physical ability to move, operate, and relocate items such as machinery, furniture, etc.
  • Ability, when needed, to engage with young persons (residents) in a safe, understanding, and friendly manner.
  • Valid Driver's Licence with no restrictions
