About Us
BatteryX is an Australian innovator at the forefront of residential energy storage. Our cutting-edge home battery systems empower homeowners, enabling energy independence while driving the global shift toward renewables. Built on performance, intelligence, and reliability, our products lead the industry — and we're looking for equally exceptional people to support them in the field.
We're seeking a technically accomplished professional to play a hybrid role — providing high-level field support while serving as the critical bridge between our production line and our installation partners.
About the Role
As the Home Battery Field Support & Manufacturing Liaison Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for our home energy systems in the field. You'll provide advanced technical support to certified installers, troubleshoot systemic issues, and feed real-world insights back into our manufacturing and R&D teams. Your work will drive product improvements, elevate installer success, and ultimately enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Field Support & Escalation Management
- Act as the highest-level technical contact for complex commissioning or installation issues.
- Provide hands-on and remote support to certified installers.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on field issues and product returns.
- Develop and deliver advanced training for installation partners.
Manufacturing & Quality Liaison
- Represent the "Voice of the Field" to R&D and Manufacturing.
- Analyse field data to detect design or production-related issues.
- Work closely with QA and production line staff to replicate and resolve field faults.
- Provide real-time feedback to improve assembly quality and manufacturing processes.
Process & Continuous Improvement
- Create technical case studies and field summaries for internal teams.
- Collaborate on diagnostic tools and service procedures.
- Support rollout of field retrofits and engineering service bulletins.
- Conduct installer audits to ensure best-practice compliance and inform training needs.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrochemistry, or a related field. Equivalent extensive practical experience will be considered.
- 5+ years in technical field support, service engineering, or quality engineering, preferably in renewable energy, EVs, or power electronics.
Technical Competencies
- In-depth understanding of DC systems, lithium batteries, and inverter technology.
- Ability to interpret schematics, PLC logic, and wiring diagrams.
- Skilled with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers).
- Proficient in Linux CLI, network troubleshooting, and system log analysis
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently (up to 60-70%) to installer sites across the region/country.
Preferred Desired Skills:
- Manufacturing or NPI (New Product Introduction) experience.
- Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or similar root cause analysis/quality methodology certification.
- Previous experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP).
- Project management capabilitie.
Personal Attributes:
- Analytical Problem-Solver: Thrives on solving complex, multi-variable technical puzzles.
- Proactive Communicator: Exceptional ability to translate technical jargon between field technicians, manufacturing staff, and engineers.
- Diplomatic & Customer-Focused: Able to manage high-stress situations with installers and homeowners calmly and professionally.
- Hands-On: Not afraid to get hands dirty on the production line or in a customer's garage to understand an issue fully.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Intrinsically motivated to make processes better and products more reliable.
How to Apply
If you are a technical problem-solver who loves being the bridge between the digital design and the physical world, we want to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience to
