About the Role

The Kitchen Hand/ cook will be responsible for supporting all day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, quality, presentation and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Work efficiently under pressure, managing multiple orders and ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
  • Washing dishes and maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Be reliable
  • Have the ability to listen and communicate clearly
  • Be available to work rotating shift over lunch and dinner service, late nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Be able to maintain physical and fast-paced work
  • Have effective time management
  • Assisting the Chefs with basic food preparation & Operational duties
  • Ensure all food items are stored correctly to avoid cross-contamination
  • Adhering to Food Safety Standards

About you:

  • Completed Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is Ideal
  • Minimum 1 year experience
  • Proven experience as Kitchen Hand/ cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Food safety certification and adherence to hygiene standards.
