About South Burnett CTC Inc
South Burnett CTC Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged individuals of all backgrounds through various services including Foster Care, Youth and Family Services, and Disability Services. We operate across multiple locations in the South Burnett area, ensuring that our programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of the community.
Our Partners in Foster Care program focuses on recruiting, training, and supporting foster and kinship carers to provide safe and nurturing environments for children and young people under child protection orders. We are committed to improving outcomes for these children and ensuring their well-being and safety.
Position Overview
The Foster and Kinship Care Practitioner will play a crucial role in delivering emotional and practical support to a caseload of foster and kinship carers. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of child protection legislation, along with the ability to assess and respond to the unique needs of both carers and children.
The successful candidate will report to the Partners in Foster Care Team Leader and will engage with various stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to enhance service delivery.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child protection or human services, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with diverse communities. Key attributes include:
- Relevant industry experience and a deep understanding of the Child Protection Act
- Diploma level or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, or related fields
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for accurate information sharing
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in complex situations
- Commitment to cultural sensitivity and community support
- Current Queensland Driver Licence and necessary certifications (First Aid, CPR, Working with Children Blue Card)
