About the Role

We are seeking a skilled 
Database Engineer
 to design, implement, and manage database solutions across 
Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server
 environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modelling, schema optimisation, and data migration, with hands-on experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain 
    relational and non-relational database schemas
     ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement and manage 
    database setup, configuration, and performance tuning
     across multiple database technologies.
  • Develop 
    data models, migration scripts, and transformation processes
     to support business and application needs.
  • Ensure 
    data integrity, consistency, and availability
     across production and test environments.
  • Support 
    data migration projects
     to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) under strict 
    security and compliance controls
    .
  • Collaborate with application developers, data analysts, and infrastructure teams to optimise database performance and efficiency.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation, version control, and best practices for database management and deployment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in 
    database design, administration, and development
     using Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
  • Strong knowledge of 
    SQL, PL/SQL
    , and performance tuning techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with 
    data migration, ETL, and transformation processes
    .
  • Familiarity with 
    cloud database services
     such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL.
  • Experience implementing 
    backup, recovery, and high-availability
     strategies.
  • Understanding of 
    data governance, access control, and encryption
     best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certification in Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
  • Experience with 
    DevOps tools
    , database automation, or 
    Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
     practices is an advantage.
