We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Brookton DHS is establishing a pool of exceptional Primary Teachers to support roles across Early Childhood (Year 2 to 3), Primary Science Specialist, and Primary Health teaching. We invite applicants with the capacity to teach students from Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) in a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Suitable applicants will be committed to delivering integrated, culturally responsive programs that support the learning and development of our Aboriginal student population. Experience with explicit instruction is preferred, and knowledge of programs such as Talk for Writing, Spelling Mastery and Prime Mathematics is highly desirable as is experience in working with the Berry Street Education Model. We seek flexible, energetic teachers who can work collaboratively within their teaching phase and demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Ideally, suitable applicants will create positive and welcoming classroom environments with high expectations and a growth mindset while fostering students' social and emotional development. Candidates should possess exemplary teaching skills, be motivated to deliver best practice, and embrace a school culture focused on connected practice, collaborative teamwork, and continuous professional learning.

Experience in implementing high-impact teaching strategies, particularly in literacy and numeracy through explicit instruction, is highly valued. Applicants should be skilled in differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs and proficient in using a variety of assessment tools to monitor progress, provide constructive feedback, and inform future planning at the classroom level.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
