We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Brookton District High School (DHS), situated in the Avon Valley on Noongar Boodja, has served the community since 1903. The role supports teaching across Early Childhood (Year 2 to 3), Primary Science Specialist, and Primary Health, with the capacity to teach students from Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) in a diverse and inclusive environment. Applicants should be committed to culturally responsive programs and to building positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities- Deliver integrated, culturally responsive programs to support learning and development of Aboriginal students.
- Teach students from Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) in a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
- Use explicit instruction and a range of high-impact teaching strategies to support literacy and numeracy.
- Differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs and using assessment tools to monitor progress, provide feedback, and inform planning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the school community to support student outcomes.
- Holder of an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Possible eligibility for WA Working with Children Check and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check with a current Screening Clearance Number.
- Experience with explicit instruction and knowledge of programs such as Talk for Writing, Spelling Mastery, Prime Mathematics, and Berry Street Education Model is desirable.

Mobility and EligibilityMobility appointments may be available for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers, with a right of return to substantive positions after three years. South West teachers in this trial have specific eligibility constraints; verify eligibility on IKON.
