The Role

We're looking for experienced Automation Maintenance Electricians to join our team in a casual capacity to support a range of Melbourne-based manufacturers.

You'll be part of a national business providing high-quality electrical maintenance and automation support.

Details:

  • Casual shift coverage for Day, Afternoon, or Night Shift
  • $60 per hour plus casual loading + shift penalties
  • You choose when and where you work, and how many days per week
  • Ideal for semi-retired electricians or those seeking flexible work arrangements

Key Responsibilities
  • Electrical fault-finding and breakdown repairs on automated machinery
  • Preventative maintenance on motors, drives, conveyors, and packaging lines
  • Modifications, installation and assembly of new and existing machinery
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings
  • Work with PLC systems, instrumentation and safety control systems
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
  • Support factory performance and equipment reliability

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • A current Victorian Electrical Licence
  • 5+ years experience as an Industrial Electrician
  • 2+ years experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities
  • Experience with high-speed packaging machinery (vertical baggers, flow wrappers, etc.)
  • Experience with PLCs, VSDs, and automation systems
  • A proactive and safety-conscious mindset
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to thrive under pressure and work independently
