About the Role

We are seeking a skilled
Data Engineer

with strong experience in
database management, financial data (General Ledger), and cloud data platforms (Snowflake)

. The ideal candidate will design, build, and optimize data pipelines that support reporting, analytics, and financial systems integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize
    ETL/ELT data pipelines
     to ingest and process financial and operational data.
  • Work with
    General Ledger (GL)
     and other financial systems to ensure accurate data integration and reconciliation.
  • Design and manage data models, schemas, and transformations in
    Snowflake
    .
  • Write complex
    SQL queries
     for data validation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with finance, data analytics, and IT teams to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Implement best practices for
    data governance, performance tuning, and security
    .
  • Support
    data migration, integration, and automation
     initiatives across systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
    .
  • 5+ years
     of experience in
    data engineering or database development
    .
  • Proven experience working with
    General Ledger
     or financial accounting data.
  • Expertise in
    SQL (advanced queries, stored procedures, optimization)
    .
  • Strong hands-on experience with
    Snowflake
     data warehouse platform.
  • Familiarity with
    data integration tools
     such as Talend, Informatica, dbt, or Airflow is a plus.
  • Experience with
    Python
     or
    ETL scripting
     preferred.
  • Knowledge of
    data governance
    ,
    data quality
    , and
    compliance standards
    .
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior experience working in
    financial services or accounting systems integration
    .
  • Understanding of
    reporting and reconciliation workflows
     in finance.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Immediate or short notice period availability (preferred).
  • Must be
    based in Sydney
     or able to work in a
    hybrid mode
    .
