Sales Estimator

About the role:

We are a small residential construction company about to grow and are seeking a sales estimator to drive sales and pricing for jobs to increase conversions. We are looking to grow into Extensions, Garage conversions and New builds in 2026 hence your estimating prowess must include these areas of expertise. You must have fluent English, be able to talk to clients, understand what they want and put it on paper and be able to provide close estimates after putting the design (layout) into the system and using buildXact software and calling trades and suppliers (to be discussed at interview). In short, you need to know your stuff and know how to sell

The office is in Coburg.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate layout and estimates based on this layout so clients have an idea of price.
• Once costings are agreed, you will deal with drafty/architects who work with us to prepare accurate quotes and discuss with clients.
• Attain quotes from suppliers, trades etc. to enable accurate quotes once drawings are done.
• You will deal with the director and clients.
• You will be expected to work from the office but working from home is a possibility as we are a result driven business.
• Source supplier and subcontractor pricing and ensure competitive rates
• Track project costings and assist in tender submissions and budgeting
• Work closely with the delivery team to support smooth handover and project setup

Skills & experience:

• Soft skills are a must, talking to clients and converting to jobs are essential
• Experience in what we require and can estimate accurately
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in similar roles
• Must have a strong imagination to be able to put ideas to paper and take that to estimating, a detailed yet holistic thinker
• must know buildXact software (other software may be used later)
• Experience in residential builds, renovations, extensions
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, take-offs, and scopes of work
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in general
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Construction Management degree, highly regarded but not essential.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills
• must have car and drivers license
