Medical Receptionist

About the role

Gympie Day and Evening Clinic is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated team in Gympie, QLD. As the first point of contact for our patients, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of our busy medical practice and delivering exceptional customer service.

Main Tasks:

• Greeting and welcoming patients in a friendly and professional manner

• Scheduling appointments and managing the clinic's appointment calendar

• Managing patient registrations, record-keeping, and data entry

• Handling patient inquiries and coordinating referrals and test results

• Assisting with the preparation of medical documents and correspondence

• Providing general administrative support to the clinical team as required

• Perform other administrative duties as directed by the Practice Manager or Principal Doctor/s.

Skills and Experience Requirement:

• At least one year experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role within the healthcare industry

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with patients, clinicians, and colleagues in a professional and empathetic manner

• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively

• Proficient in using medical software, databases, and Microsoft Office applications

• A caring and compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in providing high-quality patient care

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict privacy policies
