Motel Managers – City Centre Motel, Kempsey, NSW

Seeking a motivated management couple (team of two) to take the reins at City Centre Motel – a well-run, family-owned property in the heart of Kempsey, NSW, in early January 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team management
  • Guest services and reception: Manage guest check-ins, inquiries, and bookings with professionalism and a warm welcome
  • Revenue management: Monitor and adjust room rates in response to local events in liaison with the owners
  • Administration: Respond to guest feedback, manage stock orders and inventory, and maintain operational records
  • Property operations: basic room and property maintenance, pool care, and grounds upkeep
  • Must hold (or be willing to obtain) Food Safety Certification, as we offer our guests a continental breakfast.
  • Compliance and safety: Ensure adherence to Work Health & Safety (WHS), fire regulations, licensing, and essential service requirements
  • Trade and contractor liaison: Organise and coordinate external maintenance services when needed

To be successful, you must have:

  • Proven motel management experience in a hands-on role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with a diverse range of guests and stakeholders
  • High level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Xero (or similar accounting software), and familiarity with Property Management Systems such as GuestPoint, with working knowledge of GDS and SiteMinder, is highly regarded
  • Experience working with online travel agencies (OTAS), including and Expedia
  • Ability to live onsite, work weekends and public holidays
  • A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Willingness to participate in an online quiz if shortlisted
