What role will you play?

As Wind Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimisation of wind energy projects. You will be responsible for conducting site assessments, designing wind turbine layouts, and ensuring the efficient operation of wind farms. Your role will provide and coordinate technical and engineering inputs for all aspects of the project lifecycle including M&A, prospecting, due diligence, development, and delivery. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Wind Engineer will work cross-functionally within Aula Energy project teams and with external contractors / consultants for each project.

The role provides a diverse range of responsibilities across the project portfolio including wind modelling, turbine technology selection, integration/optimisation with balance of plant design, optimisation and micro siting, development of technical documentation / requirements for procurement activities, and support during installation, construction and commissioning works on site.

What You Offer

  • Demonstrated experience as a Wind Engineer with extensive experience in the development and construction of renewable energy assets in APAC region
  • Hold tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related technical disciplines
  • Experience leading technical workstreams and deliverables for projects including wind farm layout design and optimisation, wind resource assessment and energy yield analysis
  • Experience of wind monitoring campaign planning and execution, including met masts and remote sensing devices (LiDAR and SoDAR)
  • Strong technical knowledge of wind turbine technology and balance of plant requirements for wind farm projects
  • Demonstrated ability providing technical input into the negotiation of contracts with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), technical due diligence (DD) services, construction contractors, and operations and maintenance providers
  • Experience with the following software packages (or equivalent) is required: ArcGIS, WindPRO, OpenWind, WAsP
  • Capability to support the identification and evaluation of business growth opportunities including generation site assessments and/or red flag analysis of M&A opportunities
  • Proven ability to identify and manage project risks, including identification of appropriate mitigations and escalation where appropriate
  • Ability to interpret and apply comprehensive knowledge of laws, standards, regulations and policies in the area of expertise
  • Demonstrated commitment to ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality management practices are implemented for projects
  • Excellent communication skills to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including specialist consultants, OEMs, project partners, and contractors
