About the Role:

We have an opportunity for a Senior Environment Advisor to lead our onsite team at the Beverley In-Situ Recovery mining operation in remote SA.  You will oversee and manage environmental, rehabilitation and closure requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations as well as provide supervision to the broader environment, radiation, and rehabilitation teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all Environment and Radiation Advisors, Technicians, and Rehabilitation personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate management of staff, handovers and weekly meetings.
  • Development of, and oversee the systems required for, successful delivery of rehabilitation against agreed targets/strategy, including reviews and oversight of the Government Rehabilitation Security Bond.
  • Development of, and oversee, the systems related to work practices and management plans required for, closure activities.
  • Oversee statutory groundwater monitoring, data review and reporting requirements as detailed in the approved Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPR).
  • Oversee the review of regulatory data to ensure it meets specifications, and trends/anomalies detected.
  • Coordinate and ensure delivery of annual strategic objectives, including regulatory submissions, with Environment Advisors.
  • Contribute to the development of ESG related requirements, including Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (CFDs) & Sustainability Reporting.
  • Oversee annual flora and fauna survey requirements, reporting and finalisation.
  • Ensure the accurate and on time completion of the following key regulatory submissions:

  • Annual Compliance Report

  • Extractive Mineral Lease Management & Annual Review
  • Quarterly Environmental Reports
  • Natural Attenuation Annual Review & Reports
  • Safe Drinking Water management and monitoring.
  • Annual Recycled Water (Effluent) Report
  • Annual Waste Management (Non-Radioactive) Report
  • Annual Water Use Report
  • Annual Bond Review
  • NPI
  • NGER
  • Annual ABS Report

  • Ensure the appropriate management of environmental incidents and hazards.

  • Continual improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS) according to ISO 14001.
  • Provide input and advice to site personnel, meetings, projects and initiatives as it relates to environmental management.
  • Undertake other work as directed.

The role is FIFO ex-Adelaide (General Aviation terminal) or ex-Port Augusta. Flight time is only 75 minutes from Adelaide, roster is 4 days on, 3 days off.

About You:

In addition to having relevant tertiary/Post Grad qualification(s) and relevant experience, you will be keen to contribute to successful outcomes for our company in a professional collaborative team environment. You will also ideally have:

  • Proven experience as environment advisor/professional, ideally in a similar environment
  • 2+ years' experience in a senior environment advisor role.
  • Experience leading and coaching a small environmental safety team
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in Mine closure, decommissioning and/or land rehabilitation.
  • Strong knowledge of SA Environmental legislation
  • Proficiency in software packages including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Access).
  • Licence to use or handle radioactive substances.
  • GIS experience (MapInfo, ArcView or other).
  • Experience in a people management / supervisory role.
  • Radiation protection in mining or mineral processing
