Solutions Architect

We're looking for a skilled Solutions Architect based in Sydney to design and deliver high-quality business solutions that support strategic goals, align with enterprise standards, and integrate seamlessly across systems and technologies. A key focus of this role is shaping robust application architecture and developing solutions using modern low-code platforms, including Power Platform, Azure Logic Apps, and OutSystems.

Providing technical advice to both group-level delivery and regional support teams, you will stay ahead of emerging technologies and play a pivotal role in driving organisational technological advancement and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture Practice

• Bring extensive experience and best practice for Solution Architecture to enable the delivery of quality outcomes and solution for our organisation that aligns with our architecture principles and standards and support that supports long-term business objectives.
• Provide support to uplift architecture practice including developing and maintaining architecture artifacts such as standards, reference architecture, templates and models
• Ability to create and maintain quality architectural documents to support project delivery

Solution Design and Implementation

• Formulate and implement end to end architecture designs covering all aspects of a solution (Business, Application, Data, integration, Network, Infra, Security and Operational support) Provide architectural guidance to development teams (global and regional).
• Ability to identify and document / call out dependencies with other projects / systems, solution risk
• Assess business impact with every technical choice made
• Ability to create a mock-up/demo to showcase the proposed solution architecture

Technology Evaluation and Selection

• Assess and recommend technologies to ensure appropriate technology choices used for solutions, that create efficiencies, reduce and eliminate technology debt

Governance and Best Practices

• Champion architecture governance and security measures across all systems.
• Provide architectural direction throughout the project process
• Conduct architecture review on existing systems and propose improved and sustainable architecture
• Can create standards, patterns and best practices

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and manage relationship with business and technology stakeholders
• Collaborate with product, technology and business leadership to design end-to-end solutions that enhance business user experience.
• Work closely with business analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Engage and manage external vendors for design, architecture and development work

Mentorship

• Provide mentorship to other members in the team IT teams, focusing on their professional growth and development within the architecture domain.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and workshops to disseminate best practices and recent advancements in technologies.
• Guide cross-functional teams through complex projects, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices

Communication

• Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
• Communicate and articulate technical solutions to different stakeholders
• Ability to conduct workshop with business analyst to understand business requirements for a solution
• Delivers quality documentation including but not limited to conceptual architecture paper, high level design paper, decision paper, patterns and technology standard

Knowledge and Experience:

• 8+ years in technology solution delivery, including at least 4 years in a dedicated solution architecture role
• Experience designing and implementing solutions using cloud and low-code platforms
• Tertiary qualifications in IT or related field
• Certifications such as TOGAF, cloud or integration architecture are an advantage
• Strong knowledge across architectural disciplines and complex technology environments
• Proficient in low-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform), cloud technologies (especially Azure), and modern engineering practices
• Experience with agile and hybrid delivery methodologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise in fast-moving environments
• Strong business acumen and attention to detail
