About the role
An opportunity currently exists for a Project Supervisor to join the Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) team based at Port Hedland. Reporting to the Superintendent Projects, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of NPI Capital Projects across Port and Rail. Acting as a key coordinator, you will manage multiple work fronts to ensure projects progress smoothly from planning through to execution. Your focus will be on achieving key performance indicators related to safety, schedule, quality, financial outcomes, and overall project performance.
This diverse role covers a range of projects supporting NPI, Port and Rail, including road maintenance and repairs, building renovations, electrical and mechanical installations, and various civil and construction works. This is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible impact on site operations while driving high standards of safety and project excellence.
Duties
- Champion a proactive safety culture by applying risk management processes, reporting hazards and incidents, and supporting the implementation of HSE procedures
- Oversee contractors throughout all project phases, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality expectations
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across teams, contractors, and stakeholders through meetings and regular updates
- Develop business cases and scopes of work, working closely with engineering teams to define project requirements and resolve technical queries
- Monitor and support contractor performance, providing coaching, mentoring, and supervision to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, procedures, and compliance requirements across all project activities
- Create and maintain project schedules, track progress, prepare status reports, and proactively identify and mitigate project risks
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in mine site and construction operations, including experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Strong understanding of construction, engineering, and project control, with the ability to step up as 2IC when required
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to engage effectively with project and corporate stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Smartsheet, and ServiceNow
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to safe workplace practices and duty of care
- Relevant qualifications in Mining/Civil Engineering, Project Management (desirable), Electrical, S26 accreditation, and a full C class manual driving licence
