About the Role

The Senior Dietitian – Food Services is an experienced and highly skilled clinician who provides leadership and expertise in nutrition, hydration, and food services across the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN).

Based in Port Lincoln, this role is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, and consumer-centred nutritional care for residents and patients across EFNLHN's Multi-Purpose Services and acute hospital sites. You will lead service development, clinical projects, and quality improvement initiatives to optimise nutrition and mealtime experiences, aligning food services with best practice standards and accreditation requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional leadership and advice on menu planning, nutrition standards, and therapeutic diets.
  • Leading audits, menu reviews, and consumer satisfaction evaluations related to food and nutrition.
  • Collaborating with clinical, corporate, and food service teams to deliver culturally safe and person-centred nutrition care.
  • Supporting accreditation processes and reporting on quality and performance indicators related to food services.
  • Providing clinical supervision, education, and mentoring for dietitians, allied health assistants, and students.

About You

You are an innovative and motivated dietitian who demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for improving food and nutrition outcomes in health and aged care settings.

To be successful, you will have:

  • A recognised qualification in Dietetics and eligibility for full membership with Dietitians Australia.
  • Demonstrated experience in food service dietetics and/or leadership in health or aged care settings.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in quality improvement, service development, and clinical education.
  • A commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice.
  • Participation in the Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program is desirable.
