In this role, you'll:

Gain practical, hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification, all while getting paid

This Project Management Traineeship program will be based in Windsor, commencing in February 2026, an exciting opportunity to launch your career with Transport for NSW

No previous experience is required. You'll receive comprehensive training, earn while you learn and develop in-demand skills through real, hands-on experience within a NSW government agency.

About you:

  • You are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident
  • You have completed Year 12 or hold a Higher School Certificate (or equivalent).
  • You are ready to commence full-time employment in February 2026
  • You have reliable transport to travel to the office or depot.
  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are willing to learn and can manage your time and priorities effectively
  • You have demonstrated familiarity using corporate computing systems and applications or the ability to learn new systems with ease
  • You demonstrate teamwork and maintain a positive, accountable approach in all you do
  • You take pride in consistently delivering your best across school, work, and personal life
  • You proactively seek opportunities to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
  • You manage your time effectively and stay organised to meet your commitments

Rates of pay are dependent on the year you completed year 12 (or the equivalent), please see below for details:

Year 12 school leaver (or equivalent) - $ super per week

  • 1 year out of school leaver (or equivalent) - $ super per week

  • 2 years school leaver (or equivalent) - $ super per week

  • 3 years or more school leaver (or equivalent) or before - $ super

Recruitment Timeline:

To support a smooth and efficient hiring process, below is an overview of the anticipated recruitment timeline.

Once applications close, the Talent team will review all submissions for shortlisting.

A virtual information session will be held on Wednesday 24 September at 10:00AM and Monday 29 September at 4:00PM. You will receive an email invitation and are required to attend one of the sessions.

Face-to-face interviews will take place between 13 October and 7 November 2025.

Candidates who are successful at interview will progress to pre-employment checks.

A talent pool may be created for future roles over the next 18 months. If you are assessed as suitable and a vacancy becomes available, you may be contacted to complete pre-employment checks.
