About the Role:
This is a casual opportunity designed specifically for 2nd and 3rd year Medical Imaging students who want to apply their learning in a real clinical environment and get paid for it.
As a Medical Imaging Assistant (MIA) at Radiology SA, you'll play a key support role in helping technical staff deliver high-quality, patient-focused imaging services across multiple modalities. You'll gain hands-on experience by assisting radiographers in areas such as:
- Preparing and supporting patients before and during procedures
- Asking clinical screening questions and gathering relevant medical history
- Explaining procedures and outlining any associated risks
- Assisting with cannulation (where appropriate) and patient positioning
- Reviewing referral forms to support accurate diagnostic imaging
- Supporting clinical staff with manual handling and patient preparation
- Contributing to efficient workflows, including urgent and walk-in appointments
- Collaborating with technical and clerical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations

About You
We're looking for students who are:
- Enthusiastic, professional, and passionate about patient care
- Strong communicators who value collaboration and teamwork
- Strong customer service skills and a passion for care and empathy
- Able to demonstrate initiative, proactivity, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Radiology Imaging systems (eg RIS/PACS) - desirable
Essential:
- Reside in Adelaide
- Currently enrolled in a Medical Imaging degree at UNISA (2nd or 3rd year)
- Be willing to work after hours and weekends
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Current Working with Children Check National Police Check (Vulnerable Persons) or willing to obtain
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel between RSA sites (as required)
