High Intensity Support Worker

About the Participant

This role supports a bright and engaging 10-year-old boy living with complex physical disabilities who loves water play, music, and using assistive technology to communicate. He lives with his family (and a friendly dog) and requires 2:1 support for daily living, therapy programs, and community participation.

About the Role

We're seeking compassionate and reliable High Intensity Support Workers (including those with nursing or health backgrounds) to join a small, consistent team providing quality, person-centred care.

You'll assist with:

  • Morning and evening routines
  • Personal care, PEG feeding, BiPAP setup, and seizure management
  • Supporting therapy programs (OT, Physio, Speech)
  • Communication using AAC and PODD systems
  • Community access and hydrotherapy

Requirements

  • Australian working rights
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module (mandatory)
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Manual Handling training
  • PEG feeding and medication administration experience (or willingness to complete training)
  • Awareness of BiPAP and dysphagia management
  • Background or studies in nursing, allied health, or complex care (desirable)
  • Comfortable working in a home with a dog

Morning and evening shifts available with a regular roster for the right candidate.

Pay: $41.00 – $100.00 per hour
