Are you ready to drive innovation in education? Join us as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer and lead the development of strategic customer-facing digital products for the NSW Department of Education.

In this pivotal role, you will oversee the VMware virtualisation environment product lifecycle from conceptualisation to continuous improvements ensuring alignment with our mission to enhance educational experiences. You will craft a compelling product vision and execute strategies that deliver real value to our customers.

Your responsibilities will include creating an outcome-oriented virtualisation roadmap aligned with strategic goals, collaborating with teams to gather customer insights and refine offerings. You'll integrate services to enhance value and streamline user experiences, while coaching the virtualisation team on enhancements and compliance to foster a culture of innovation.

Your expertise in emerging digital trends will guide product development, ensuring the organisation-wide adoption of user-centred design methodologies that pave the way for a brighter future in education.

About you

  • Effective communication with stakeholders is crucial, as you'll balance immediate needs with future requirements.
  • Deep understanding of VMware virtualisation cloud infrastructure and automation, ensuring systems are reliable, scalable and efficient.
  • Expertise in emerging technologies and best practices, making informed decisions with long-term strategic goals.
  • Passionate and dedicated to driving innovation and enhancing user experiences in digital products.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and operation of enterprise scale virtualisation platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of automated deployment solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering automated solutions to resolve operational issues.
  • Industry certification in relevant technologies or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
