Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. This tertiary centre delivers around 5,000 women per year and has a level 5 neonatal facility. This post will involve clinical research examining predictive modeling and prevention of adverse obstetric outcomes and their impacts on maternal and infant health. This post will also involve clinical services at RPA for the provision of obstetric/maternal and Fetal medicine/Gynaecology services including participation in antenatal clinics, gynae clinics (optional) and Gynae operating lists (optional). This post will also involve ultrasound sessions at Canterbury hospital, peripheral hospital attached to RPA.

The post(s) are particularly suitable for candidates who have significant clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology ultrasound and also for Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMG) who are seeking to refine their clinical and research skills in order to be appointed to a substantive consultant or equivalent academic position. They provide an ideal opportunity to pursue special interest training in obstetric ultrasound and high risk obstetrics in a unit that has a strong international reputation for research and translational development in maternal and fetal medicine. Accreditation for training can be sought by successful candidates.
Successful candidate(s) may be required to take part in the out of hours obstetrics and gynaecology on call rota. The department is committed to supporting individuals that wish to complete a postgraduate research degree.
