About Us

Hillarys Yacht Club is situated in the northern suburbs of Perth and is one of the few clubs with the Indian Ocean at its doorstep. The Club has a significant membership base that participates in both water sport and hospitality based activities.

The Role

The Club is seeking an experienced Part Time Receptionist reporting to the Membership and Community Engagement Manager, hours of work being Monday and Tuesday 8.30am-5pm, Wednesday 8.30am-12.30pm and 10am-1pm every Saturday. The role is multifaceted providing first class service to the Club's membership along with administration support to the various Club departments.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • General reception based duties, including managing the switchboard, receiving payments, daily reconciliations, fielding enquiries, taking restaurant bookings and accurate record keeping
  • Providing first class service to existing Members, sponsors, guests and visitors and their reception enquiries
  • Administration assistance to the various Club departments including marketing, food & beverage, moorings, finance and training & development
  • Providing assistance to and liaison with Club Officers and officials
  • Promotion of Club Membership, providing relevant information to potential new members, arranging new member induction sessions and onboarding
  • Upkeep of member database
  • Preparation of monthly Membership reports, preparing documentation for new membership approvals and resignations, and ensuring all processes and procedures are being followed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Have a high level of customer service and communication skills
  • Have a high level of initiative, attention to detail and be able to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to maintain accurate and reliable Club records
  • Have a high level of computer literacy
  • Ability to work autonomously but also as part of a small integrated and dynamic team
  • Liaise with, and develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Have a high regard and respect for confidentiality and discretion
