**Nurse Unit Manager – Victorian Palliative Care Advice Service (PCAS)

  • Fixed Term Full Time role until 30 June 2026 (with further extension subject to funding)
  • 80 hours per fortnight including monthly accrued day off
  • Based in Parkville

The Victorian Palliative Care Advice Service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital provides compassionate, evidence-based care to people living with life-limiting illness and their families. Working in collaboration with health professionals across Victoria, the service supports best practice in palliative and end-of-life care through clinical expertise, education, and innovation ensuring every Victorian has access to quality care when it matters most.

Your New Role

  • Coordinate and manage the delivery of the Victorian Palliative Care Advice Service (PCAS) – a statewide service providing care and advice to the community and clinicians across Victoria.
  • Oversee day to day operations, including budget management, rostering, reporting, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Drive quality and innovation across the service, ensuring timely and effective access to specialist palliative care advice.
  • Work collaboratively with the Department of Health, internal RMH stakeholders, and sector partners to enhance care outcomes across the state.
  • Lead a dedicated team committed to providing responsive, person-centred palliative care support.

About You

  • You are an experienced healthcare leader with a background in palliative care services.
  • You bring strong operational management skills, including budgeting, reporting, and team leadership.
  • You demonstrate strategic thinking and a proven ability to deliver service improvement and innovation.
  • You excel at building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across health, community, and government sectors.
  • You hold current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and relevant postgraduate qualifications in Palliative Care and/or Management.
