Healthcare Australia (HCA) is a major provider of healthcare services across Australia, including allied health, primary care, recruitment, NDIS, care services, and training.
In December 2024, we began providing health, mental health, and wellbeing services across the onshore Immigration Detention network. Our team of nurses, general practitioners, and allied health professionals offer a range of healthcare services, including health assessments, chronic disease management, health promotion, wound management, immunizations, and other primary health interventions. HCA also launched a 24/7 Virtual Care Centre (VCC), offering remote healthcare through telehealth and video consultations to enhance onsite care for detainees.
Job DescriptionJoin us in bringing a new approach to medical and wellbeing care
In this leadership role, you'll oversee a team of Clinical Incident Officers and be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into clinical incidents, tracking the progress and closure of related recommendations, and ensuring best practice standards are effectively implemented.
You'll also provide clinical support and advice to internal stakeholders, contribute to quality improvement activities, and work collaboratively with operational teams and clients to offer feedback, education, and coaching around reported incidents and issues.
This role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of clinical governance and supports a proactive, learning-focused approach to incident management.
Let's talk about you:
You will have demonstrated experience in leading or coordinating complex clinical incident investigations and a strong understanding of clinical risk management and quality improvement methodologies. (e.g., Root Cause Analysis, London Protocol) The role demands a proven ability to engage effectively and empathetically with staff, clients, and external stakeholders. High-level interpersonal skills are critical, particularly the ability to communicate in an exploratory and non-accusatory manner.
Advanced data analysis and trend interpretation skills are necessary to support strategic decision-making. A sound understanding of open disclosure principles and regulatory reporting obligations is also important. Excellent written communication skills are essential, covering professional and objective correspondence, report writing, trend analysis, and policy and procedure development.
Leadership experience is a key component of this role. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead and support a team, provide coaching and guidance, and foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Applicants must hold current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Health Practitioner. Formal training or certification in incident investigation, risk management, or quality improvement will be highly regarded.
