The Local Banking department of Bendigo Bank has a responsibility to support customers to improve their financial wellbeing. This is done through building and maintaining relationships, and being conveniently available to help customers when they are ready to make their financial decisions.
The role:
The Customer Service Officer provides an exceptionally high level of customer service and builds strong relationships, while delivering core banking services. During the day you can be moving between numerous tasks, such as processing transactional banking, educating customers on alternative banking options, and exploring customers' circumstances and banking needs.
Key responsibilities:
• Identify customers' needs and help them reach their goals by offering relevant banking solutions
• Educate customers on self-service, digital offerings, and alternative banking options
• Build strong and established connections with customers through engagement activities
• Assist the team in the execution of the branch business plans
• Execute customer acquisition and retention strategies
• Execute strategies to enhance customer experience and advocacy
• Build relationships with new and existing small business customers
• Assist the team to develop and maintain an environment that motivates, holds accountable, engages, and develops skills
• Always comply with Bank policies and procedures
What we're looking for:
The successful candidate will possess the ability to multitask, show initiative, work productively, and have well-developed attention to detail and communication skills.
The candidate will also possess:
• Demonstrated interest in developing knowledge with a strong work ethic
• Advanced technology and digital capabilities
• Proven ability to be punctual and reliable
• Extensive customer service experience
• An interest in pursuing a career within business administration or banking fields
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Working with Children's Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
