APG Workforce are seeking Day Shift Maintenance Fitters to join our client's busy Smithfield operation.

Specialising in plastics manufacturing, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable and growing company offering stability, great conditions, and work-life balance.

The Role:You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment across the workshop and production areas, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient work.

  • 6am - 2pm Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventative and breakdown maintenance of machinery
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Supporting the Engineering Manager with maintenance planning and execution
  • Analysing maintenance records to improve reliability
  • Assisting with cost estimates and labour planning
  • Fabrication and workshop support when required
  • Promoting safe work practices and reporting hazards

What We're Looking For

  • Trade qualified – Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical)
  • Strong mechanical fitting skills with troubleshooting ability
  • Experience in manufacturing, fixed plant, or waste management environments highly regarded
  • Welding experience
  • EWP & Forklift is a must
  • Knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics (post-trade training highly regarded)
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
