We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Finance Officer to join our team in a permanent part-time role.

About the Role:

Granite Belt Support Services (GBSS) is a local non-profit, non-government organization that has been operating in the Stanthorpe/Warwick/Tenterfield region for nearly 30 years providing support and multidisciplinary allied health services to children, adults and their families.  GBSS is a registered NDIS provider that delivers services to assist people with disabilities and special needs and their families & carers to be included in all aspects of community life.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Finance Officer to join our organization and support our finance team, primarily in the role of payroll processing, invoicing and debtor management, together with monthly reporting & financial compliance requirements. You must be able to thrive in a busy team environment, work independently with minimal supervision and have great time management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing of fortnightly payroll, including reviewing and approval of electronic timesheets and integration to our payroll system.

• Preparation of fortnightly debtor invoices, including liaising with other departments within the organisation to ensure accuracy of information and timely processing of same.

• Preparation of monthly journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and preparation of monthly reports as required by the Finance Manager.

• Preparation and lodgement of statutory requirements including BAS, Workcover, QLeave etc.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to apply).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Previous experience in bookkeeping & payroll processing, including knowledge of accounting software systems (Xero preferred but not essential).


• Good understanding of accounting principles.


• Adaptability to change and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.

• Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage your own time within tight timeframes.


• Ability to follow policies and procedures with a strong focus on quality control.

Desirable:

• A basic understanding of the NDIS scheme & a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
