Our client is a leading Sydney based Australian landscape design and construction company delivering exceptional outdoor environments across the residential and multi residential space. With award winning inhouse capability, they blend creative landscape architecture with high quality construction to bring their projects to life.

Due to continued expansion and growth they are seeking to engage a hands-on detail driven company accountant to join this dynamic business.

Reporting into the General Manager you will lead the day to day financial operations across their 3 business divisions. This new role will provide pivotal support and ensure the ongoing financial and operational performance of the business.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations & Reporting – Oversee daily finance and accounting functions across 3 business units, including cash flow management, receivables / payables and reconciliations in Xero.
  • Client Accounts – Issue progress claims, invoicing and perform account reconciliation. Responding to client billing queries and ensuring alignment with budget estimates at all times.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – Preparation of weekly divisional sales reports, as well as a suite of monthly and quarterly management reports, reporting on variance to budget. Conduct financial analysis to assess performance and identify trends that lead to potential cost savings. Maintain clear line of sight and communication to external accountants
  • Compliance, Superannuation & Insurance – Support the General Manager in overseeing all issues relating to superannuation, insurances and statutory tax compliance including the preparation, lodgement and payment of IAS, BAS and payroll tax obligations.
  • End of Year – Lead EOFY process including balance sheet reconciliation, maintenance & reporting on asset register, depreciation schedules and employee leave balances. Oversee wages reconciliation, issuance of groups certificates as well as management of periodic workers compensation declarations

Your qualities & experience will include:

You are a proactive and organised professional who thrives in a fast paced project driven environment.

Tertiary qualifications with CA or CPA preferred although not essential.

You will enjoy the opportunity to work closely with construction and design teams in a project driven environment balancing accuracy with commercial insights.

Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting and project financial control.

Demonstrable skills in managing financial programs and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Highly numerate and able to help drive the divisional teams to achieve budgetary outcomes

A great attitude with the ability to be flexible and the desire to work as part of a cohesive deadline driven team.

Strategic planning and performance delivery capability.

This is a fantastic role for an individual who wants to take the lead on the financial performance reporting of this business who are at the forefront of landscape design and delivery throughout Sydney.
