Part-Time Opportunity – Accountant - Flexible Hours (Up to 20 per week)

Professional Insights is a CPA Accounting Firm based in North Sydney. We specialise in SMEs, Accounting, Tax, SMSFs, and Business Consulting. The Firm is led by Managing Partner Jacqueline Symons, who brings in 30 years' experience. Our expert team is committed to providing clients with exceptional service built on Accuracy, Timeliness, and Efficiency.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis (up to 20 hours per week). This role offers flexibility and could suit a working parent, a semi-retired professional looking to stay engaged, or someone simply wanting part-time hours in a supportive environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Ensuring compliance with Accounting Standards and tax obligations.
  • Contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture.
  • Xero, using the software to reconcile bank accounts & file STP.
  • Liaising with staff and clients.
  • Extensive use of Excel to create good Working Papers, to meet the requirement of the ATO.
  • Compliance for SMEs.
  • Preparing Accounts, Financial Statements & learning Individual Tax Returns.
  • TPAR for Subcontractors & the Building Industry.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong technical knowledge of Accounting for SMEs.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Accounting software (Xero experience preferred).
  • A proactive, reliable team player who values quality and client service.
  • CPA/CA qualified accountant with experience in public practice (preferred).
  • Australian experience and knowledge (preferred).
