The Role

We're looking for a proactive, product-focused Senior Java Engineer who's excited to take on multiple responsibilities and ship features that bring joy to users and value to restaurants.

You'll join a team where you can have real influence, wide scope, and room to grow in a fun and rewarding environment. Responsibilities include collaborating withcross-functional teams, designing and building advanced features and systems in Java, mentoring and influencing team members, improving application performance, and continuously improving application and code quality.

What You'll Bring

● Years of experience as a Senior Engineer working in Java backend development

● Strong experience with building serverless APIs

● Strong understanding of Software Development principles

● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

● Experience with both building and consuming REST and GraphQL APIs

● Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and query tuning (MySQL, Postgres, etc.)

● Solid experience and excellent grasp in performance tuning and debugging

● Comfortable working in Git

● Proficient in automated testing and writing testable code

● Familiar with modern app architectures and design patterns

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● A mentoring and influencing mindset

● A proactive mindset, ready to roll up your sleeves

Bonus Points If You…

● Have experience with AWS (S3, AppSync, API Gateway, Lambda, etc.)

● Have experience in building automated CI/CD pipelines

● Love food, restaurants, and dining out

Qualifications

● Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

● A minimum of 3–5 years of commercial experience as a Senior Engineer working in Java

● Full working rights in Australia
