About the Role

The Religious Education Coordinator is an integral member of the Catholic school's leadership team, working under the direction of the Principal and in collaboration with clergy, staff, parents, Catholic Education personnel, and the wider faith community.

In the Diocese of Bathurst, the role encompasses three key domains of leadership:

  • Religious Leadership: Foster Catholic tradition, spirituality, social justice, pastoral care, and liturgical life, while encouraging active parental engagement.
  • Educational Leadership: Model and promote high-quality teaching aligned with Gospel values, oversee Religious Education curriculum, and enhance learning through data-informed practices.
  • Enabling Leadership: Lead strategic initiatives, manage resources effectively, build collaborative partnerships, and support staff accreditation in Religious Education.

About You

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and NESA accreditation to teach in NSW.
  • The desire to engage with and contribute to a Catholic learning organisation.
  • Experience and proven record in effective classroom learning and teaching.
  • Advanced understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices.
  • A proven ability to differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
  • A capacity to work collegially and collaborate within a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, punctuality and adaptability.
  • The ability to develop positive relationships in the classroom based on mutual respect, patience and understanding.
  • Capacity to create safe and supportive learning environments for students.
  • A willingness to engage with the Professional Learning Communities program and the ability to work effectively as part of a Professional Learning Team.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the Church's teachings and the Catholic teacher's role in the mission of the Church.
