About the role:
The Procurement & Purchasing Specialist will join Supply Chain, responsible for procurement & purchasing activities to support Chrysos' deployment, maintenance and business operations.
As a critical link between our demand planning, procurement, warehouse, and production functions, the role will work collaboratively across the team to streamline supply chain activities and ensure the efficient flow of goods.
What you will do:
- Raise, manage, and track purchase orders through Chrysos' spares management system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to support global operations.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues around quality, delivery, or cost.
- Assist with sourcing and evaluating new suppliers, including obtaining quotes, conducting basic market analysis, and supporting supplier onboarding.
- Maintain effective relationships with key suppliers and support performance reviews to ensure quality, delivery, and compliance standards are met.
- Support procurement activities by ensuring supplier agreements, certifications, and compliance requirements are up to date.
- Request for Quotation (RFQ) / tendering support.
- Prepare and coordinate requests for quotation (RFQs) and assist in tendering activities to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply.
- Assist in analysing purchasing spend and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Coordinate with logistics and production teams to ensure timely availability of parts and consumables at operational sites.
- Ensure purchasing and supplier data in ERP systems is accurate, complete, and up to date.
- Support & initiate continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise costs, supplier performance, and purchasing processes.
- Prepare and provide regular reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance, and spend as required.
- Act as the first point of contact for purchasing requests, ensuring stakeholder needs are met efficiently and compliantly.
- Contribute to strong Safety and compliance culture in all purchasing activities.
- Support the development and execution of spare parts and consumables processes to ensure reliable global availability.
- Attending sites for spares stocktakes and supporting maintenance for accuracy of inventory records in our spares management system.
- Manage specialised equipment and compliance-related purchasing (e.g., radiation monitoring equipment).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with demand planning, procurement, warehouse, and production to align logistics activities with business needs and production schedules.
- Team Support – Act as a backup for demand planning and procurement functions by analysing inventory levels and placing purchase orders to maintain adequate stock.
- Other duties as delegated by the Supply Chain Manager.
Who you are:
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in a procurement, purchasing, or logistics officer role, ideally within a global supply chain environment.
- Proven direct purchasing experience, including raising and managing purchase orders, supplier engagement, and compliance with company policies.
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and working with related authorities, including documentation such as Certificates of Conformity and pre-shipment inspections.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to analyse purchasing and inventory data to inform decisions.
- Technical aptitude to develop a general understanding of the PhotonAssay system and associated spare parts.
- Commercial acumen to balance cost, quality, and service outcomes while maintaining strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to resolve supplier issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong customer service orientation.
- Commitment to workplace health, safety, and compliance.
Desirable
- Experience in a heavy industrial, mining, or technology manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ERP (NetSuite) and office productivity tools (e.g., SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Slack, ).
- Exposure to global operations and multi-site procurement support.
