We are searching for an experienced structural Engineer from a heavy industrial manufacturing background, ideally related to the materials handling industries.

The Successful Candidate will require:

  • Able to lead and manage the structural and some mechanical functions
  • Develop and review structural and mechanical designs and drawings for industrial equipment in particular, conveyors, hoppers, platforms and fixed plant structures.
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be proficient in 2D & 3D drafting using CAD and Inventor
  • Excellent customer liaison skills
  • Develop and review mechanical designs and drawings for industrial equipment, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and standards,
  • Issue fabrication drawings and compile Bills of Materials (BOMs) for products
  • Prepare job estimates based on client requirements
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including purchasing and production, to ensure smooth project execution
  • Time management skills, being able to deliver projects to a standard, meeting the specific requirements of the clients
  • Have the mechanical aptitude to deliver customer requirements involving site visits and communication
  • To be able to follow through projects from concept through to fabrication and completion

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a mechanical drafting/detailing role
  • Strong knowledge around Australian Standards
  • Familiarity within or liaison with fabrication workshops and clients
  • AutoCAD or Inventor experience
  • Experience working within the concrete, quarrying, asphalt, and recycling industries
  • Experience in project management
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working within a workshop environment will be viewed favorably
  • Experience working with tier 1 companies highly regarded
