Murrumbidgee Irrigation (MI) is one of the largest private irrigation companies in Australia serving over 3,000 customers within an area of 378,000+ hectares. About the role

We are looking for a Planning and Design Manager to join the Asset Performance and Delivery team at this exciting time. This role will play a pivotal role in the businesses by providing engineering leadership in our ongoing capital upgrades, modernisation and water-savings initiatives.

The Planning and Design Manager will lead the development of engineering designs, assess new works applications and ensure the effective development and transition of capital works projects to the Project Delivery team. The position is integral in planning and leading the development and implementation of MI's short to long-term infrastructure capital works program.

What you will bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering and accreditation with Engineers' Australia

  • Extensive experience in engineering design and water infrastructure master planning

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate complex issues to a diverse audience and achieve buy-in

  • Demonstrated ability to display values led and performance enabling leadership, engage in positive communication, accountability & connection.

  • High levels of data literacy with a demonstrated ability to perform advanced data analytics, complex fault finding/investigations and implementing performance KPIs

  • Current 'C' class motor vehicle license

  • Live in or be willing to relocate to the Griffith Area (or its surrounds).

  • A 'can do' attitude focused on delivering outcomes

  • Commitment to a strong safety and values culture and a preparedness to 'walk the talk'.
