Our client in the consulting space is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to support their Government client on a 12 month contract.

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in systems administration, a solid understanding of ITIL practices, and experience with Linux, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux-based servers.
  • Monitor and support the RHEL environment, addressing issues and implementing updates as necessary.
  • Follow ITIL best practices to manage incidents, problems, and changes effectively.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement infrastructure improvements.
  • Maintain documentation for systems and processes to ensure clarity and continuity.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and end-users.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency in Linux systems administration, particularly RHEL.
  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals and protocols.
  • Certification in ITIL or Linux (e.g., CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator).
