The Role

Horizon Power is seeking a Battery & Solar Electrical Inspector to join our Esperance team. You'll conduct battery / solar and electrical installation inspections on consumer installations, ensuring they meet the highest safety, Regulatory and standards compliance.

Your iPad will be your primary inspection tool, enabling you to capture and upload reports, photographs, and compliance data in real time, keeping our systems efficient and our records accurate.

You'll also lead incident and breach investigations — including electrical shocks, fires, and other serious non-compliance matters — under WA's Electricity Licensing Regulations 1991, helping to prevent future risks and improve consumer installation compliance and safety.

This role is regionally based with occasional weekly or short inland trips.

What you'll need


• WA Electrical Worker's Licence – mandatory for designation as an Electrical Inspector (Electrical)


• Eligibility to be designated as an Electrical Inspector (Electrical)


• Strong understanding of Australian Standards, Regulations and testing and checking


• Experience in, or willingness to undertake training in, solar and battery installation, testing, and verification


• Strong digital skills – confident using iPads and related software for field reporting


• A strong commitment to safety and stakeholder engagement
