"It begins at Bendigo Bank"

We've never been 'just a bank'. Just like you should never be 'just an employee'. We're united in our belief that in banking, better can be bigger, and together we're making it happen.

It starts here. With Bendigo Bank… and you.

About the opportunity

The Business and Agribusiness team aspire to be the top Business and Agri Bank in our target markets by 2030. The B&A transformation team helps support the divisions strategic and transformation goals with a focus on customer strategy, execution and performance.

Your role is about building a foundation of trusted, high-quality data to propel us forward while balancing the demands of security, compliance, and ethics. Ensuring that our data remains a resilient and valuable asset that drives sustainable growth. By aligning data management within our risk appetite, you are not only mitigating risks but actively shaping our future.

You will be the key conduit between the B&A division and the Group Data Office. Driving data management by defining the boundaries and usage conditions of data assets required for running Divisional business. These definitions determine how asset integrity (i.e. reliability and security) needs to be maintained across the data lifecycle and will help enhance the divisional data capability.

The scope of the role is broad and includes ensuring end-to-end visibility over Divisional data assets, data quality, and associated people, processes, rules and technologies. You will help implement a Divisional data strategy to ensure sustained visibility and maintenance of the Division's data assets at the necessary quality standard for meeting regulatory obligations and driving business value.

In this role you'll get to…

  • Act as our key conduit with the Group Data Office and Customer & Data Enablement Practice.
  • Advocate and collaborate with team members in similar functions across the enterprise to define and leverage best practice and uplift divisional data maturity.
  • Ensuring that critical Group Data Assets are managed in line with enterprise standards and Executive expectations.
  • Understand any compliance gaps against the Data Management Policy and design a plan for remediation and gap treatment activities, and start to execute against this plan.
  • Based on the enterprise data governance model, start bringing together an approach to data management for B&A.

What you'll bring to the role

You will have experience with data management and architecture including data security and governance, defining data, data quality, data technology and risk & compliance.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, cloud platforms, big data tools and analytics.
  • A track record in executing enterprise data governance programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of banking systems and data, and the environment (technical and regulatory) it operates in.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in either consulting or a large, complex and commercial environment would be ideal.
  • Stakeholder and Project management - Strong ability to bridge business and technical teams and to communicate effectively one on one with senior stakeholders and facilitation skills to audiences at all levels would be beneficial.

We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model of the majority of your week in the office, at least 60%.
