We are expanding our team to include Behaviour Support Workers to implement person-centred behaviour support plans under the guidance of Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioners.

Role Summary

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:

  • Implement behaviour support plans (BSPs) for participants, ensuring interventions are safe, ethical, and person-centred.
  • Support participants to achieve their NDIS goals and increase community participation.
  • Monitor and report on participant progress, incidents, and the effectiveness of support strategies.
  • Collaborate with participants, families, and allied health professionals to ensure consistent and high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement BSPs under supervision of Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioners.
  • Provide positive behaviour support, including strategies to reduce challenging behaviours.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions, observations, and incidents.
  • Promote participant choice, dignity, and rights in all support activities.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Adhere to all NDIS Practice Standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting people with disability, including challenging behaviours.
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support and restrictive practice requirements.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to follow behaviour support plans accurately and safely.

Desirable Attributes

  • Previous experience implementing behaviour support plans.
  • Additional training in positive behaviour support or restrictive practices.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
